I set every support post deep into poured concrete foundations so sandy soil won't let the deck sink. I use heavy storm-proof framing brackets and robust anchoring. How I Solved It
A customer in Westbourne had a steeply sloping garden with loose, sandy soil. A handyman had previously built a cheap pine deck on it, but the posts had sunk on one side, making the entire structure lean and look completely crooked.
I came in, cleared out the old rotten wood, and dug 8 deep foundation holes, filling them with poured concrete to create solid, unmoving piers. I built a level double-joisted subframe using Use Class 4 treated timber, and finished it with premium charcoal non-slip composite boards, safe handrails, and wide steps. It was completed in 5 days, cost exactly what I quoted, and I swept up every evening.

Do I need planning permission for a deck or pagoda in Bournemouth?

How do you stop a deck from sinking in Bournemouth's sandy soil?
